The Supporting Sustainable Palm Oil campaign is a partnership of Bristol Zoological Society and We The Curious.
The campaign is managed by Bristol Zoological Society.

What information do we collect about you?
We collect information about you when you register your support of the campaign via our micro-site, either online or at our campaign venues (currently Bristol Zoo Gardens and We The Curious). We only collect your name, email address, post code (optional) and how you learned about the campaign.
How will we use the information about you?
We collect information to operate the campaign which involves contacting supermarkets to support their use of Sustainable Palm Oil. Your name allows us to personalise the email sent out which helps the supermarkets identify how many individuals have contacted them.
If you opt in to our newsletter we will use your email to keep you up to date on our progress.
Post code and where you learned about the campaign help us to understand how our campaign is reaching people. This will be separated from your name and email into anonymous data.
What is the legal basis for having your data?

When we are contacting supermarkets on your behalf, your personal data is held under the basis of contract. We will only ask for the information we need and will only use it to complete that task.
The data we use for analysis, including any comments and feedback, is kept on the basis of legitimate interest.Whenever possible, data is anonymised for these purposes.
Where you have asked to receive the newsletter, your name and email are kept on the basis of consent.Your permission it is only for this purpose, and you may withdraw permission at any time. Every email will include an option to unsubscribe at which point your details will be removed from our record.
How long do we keep your data?
- Contact information for the newsletter is kept for the duration of the campaign unless you choose to unsubscribe.
- If you do not wish to receive the newsletter, your name and email address will be deleted after 2 months
Who do we share your information with?
Supermarkets receive your full name but will never receive your contact information or location. The email will come from email@example.com. Your data will only be seen by staff members involved in the campaign.
Accessing, amending or removing your information
You have the right to request a copy of the information we hold about you.
You have the right to request that we remove your information from our records, or stop using it for particular purposes.
We want to ensure that your information is correct and up to date, so you can ask us to update or remove information which you think is inaccurate.
